ICT infrastructure manager

We are recruiting for an ICT infrastructure manager based out of Cardiff. Salary up to £50,000.

Job purpose

The role will be responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on the delivery of the Development Bank’s ICT Infrastructure (On-Premise and Cloud).

Responsibilities will include developing effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, the ICT team and outsourced ICT service provider(s) to design, test and implement an ICT infrastructure that meets current and future business needs. Strong relationship management skills are paramount to ensure the required levels of usability, performance and security are delivered by the outsourced service provider(s).

A significant portion of the role will involve capturing business requirements and creating technical Statements of Work for implementation by third party service provider(s) as well as managing the delivery of remote and onsite ICT Service Desk activities.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of DBW’s Infrastructure and Cloud strategy, including Business Continuity Plans
  • Manage third party relationships relating to ICT Infrastructure
  • Project manage the procurement, implementation and ongoing management of new and enhanced ICT infrastructure services and components
  • Manage the delivery of remote and onsite ICT Service Desk activities
  • Report on infrastructure and supplier performance against budget and a range of SLAs and KPIs
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, the ICT team and third party solution providers to holistically design, plan and implement projects to the timescales and quality required
  • Drive a culture of continuous service improvement for ICT infrastructure
  • Ensure all risks and dependencies are effectively managed both day to day operationally and within projects
  • Ensure appropriate testing, training and documentation is created/maintained for all infrastructure elements of the ICT Service Portfolio
  • Work closely with other members of the ICT team to exchange knowledge
  • Coach, mentor and manage team members
  • Any other task as may be defined by the ICT Operations Manager to meet the operational needs of the department

Knowledge, skills, abilities and experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft On-Premise and Cloud technologies, including relevant technical accreditation
  • Demonstrable experience in a Project Management or Technical Management roles, including relevant accreditation
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong supplier management skills and experience
  • Strong verbal, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written skills, including the ability to write technical documentation
  • Strong working knowledge of security related products
  • Self-starter who is able to work unsupervised
  • Able to analyse situations or issues, capture current process states, identify future requirements and deliver practical, high quality solutions that meet the needs of stakeholders effectively
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work under pressure and determination to complete tasks to a high standard with measurable success
  • Solid understanding of business processes
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours

Desirable

  • Degree level educated
  • ITIL or similar ICT Service Management Qualification
  • Experience of financial or professional services companies
  • Experience of procurement policies, procedures and tender processes
  • Understanding of the Management of Risk
