Mark Wyatt

I am a deputy fund manager in the Technology Ventures Investment team, where I focus on early-stage equity investments.

I enjoy working with and empowering entrepreneurial management teams to deliver on their vision. Supporting companies that have positive local and societal impact is the most rewarding part of the job I do. 

I joined the Development Bank of Wales in February 2025, and I am based in the Wrexham office. I have worked in the venture capital industry since 1997, across a variety of different funds, investing in early-stage technology and Life Science businesses. 

I have a PhD in Pharmacology from University of Cambridge and was awarded a Sainsbury Fellowship in Life Sciences from the RAEng for my MBA. I have been a director of private and public companies, and I currently serve on the Innovation Board at the University of Liverpool.
