Naissance is an ethically-sourced vegan healthy living company. Based in Neath, the family-run business creates cruelty-free and fair-trade essential oils, carrier oils, soaps, salts and clays, as well as massage products.
Founded in 2005, Naissance uses only natural ingredients and concentrate on sourcing responsibly with Fairtrade and other cooperatives across the globe.
Founder
Jem Skelding, Chief Executive - Jem learned how to be entrepreneurial growing up as a child in Zambia. He has aspirations for Naissance to be recognised across the world as a leader in natural, ethical, wellbeing and personal care products.
Jem grew up where it was commonplace for people to use natural ingredients to make their own remedies as premade products weren’t readily available. His goal from the start was to source the finest and purest natural ingredients from all over the world.
Business purpose
Naissance has searched the world to source carefully selected ingredients. They always strive to bring their customers the best quality products, so they always know exactly what they’re putting on their skin.
Naissance is passionate about the world we live in. They are against animal testing, with all of their products approved cruelty-free under the Leaping Bunny Program by Cruelty Free International. They continue to promise to never to test their products on animals.
Additionally, the business has a range of organic products, which have been certified by the Soil Association, who are the leading body in organic certification in the UK. This highlights their commitment to deliver the best quality of products available. Everything from the product to the packaging is checked by the Soil Association to ensure that the ingredients are produced in the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way possible.
Furthermore, almost all of their products are vegan-friendly and are registered with the Vegan Society. They are one of the most widely recognised vegan organisations in Europe, who ensure businesses meet strict vegan standards, where all vegan products do not contain animal ingredients, and the ingredients have never been tested on animals.
Funding
As a long-term customer, Naissance used our latest investment to help purchase a new corporate headquarters in Powys after successfully expanding into the European and US markets. This deal secured Wales as the corporate home of the business. Marketing, strategy and other management functions are now based at their new corporate offices in Montgomeryshire.
Customers can visit Glansevern to experience Naissance and learn about the sustainable sourcing and manufacturing process of products and ingredients. With sustainability being a priority for Naissance, the HQ allows goods to be grown on-site and used in their café and the creation of products, as well as establishing sustainable energy sources.
