Digital scams and brand misuse

We have recently learned of cases where individuals have targeted Development Bank of Wales customers and contacts through WhatsApp messages and emails. Additionally, there have been reports of individuals impersonating senior Development Bank of Wales executives and staff.

Please be aware that these activities are fraudulent, and we strongly advise against engaging with them. Development Bank of Wales never conducts business communications via WhatsApp under any circumstances.

If you suspect that you have been targeted by a scam or fraud, we urge you to report the incident to the authorities in your country or region. In the UK, please contact ActionFraud and the FCA. They may be able to assist you in identifying the perpetrators and recovering any lost funds. Additionally, we recommend contacting your bank or card provider to inquire about recovering the funds related to the transactions.

Should you receive an email or WhatsApp message from us that appears suspicious, please refrain from clicking on any links, opening attachments, or responding to it. Instead, let us know by completing our contact form. Please include as many details as possible, including the sender's full email address, any associated phone numbers, requested website URLs or domain names, and any other pertinent information you deem helpful.
