"The Development Bank of Wales has proved to be an invaluable partner in establishing PulmonIR and funding our initial clinical studies."
A spinout company from Swansea University, PulmonIR has been researching and developing technology to help detect and monitor lung disease including COPD and lung cancer. This technology is based on over ten years of research carried out by Professor Paul Lewis, who leads the Respiratory Diagnostics group at the University. Preliminary clinical studies have delivered extremely positive results that the company now intends to build on through the recent award of an Innovate UK Investment Accelerator grant of £105,000. PulmonIR previously won the Start-up category of the MediWales Innovations awards in 2016.
The company is currently developing its innovation with a view to commencing regulatory clinical trials in the UK, EU, USA and China.
